GENERAL SUMMARY:
Manages and coordinates operations with community agencies and officials, such as: Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency, Southern Eye Bank, funeral homes and coroner's offices from around the state to ensure regulatory compliances. Supervision of ACPE, Inc. Chaplaincy training program for Level I, II, and Supervisory Clinical Pastoral Education. Coordination of community clergy and lay communion ministers with local parishes in conjunction with Archdiocese of New Orleans and other denominational hierarchy, for their ministry with the Spiritual Care Department. Manage the development and implementation of Spiritual Care Services throughout Ochsner Health System.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A.Experience, Education & Training:
Master of Divinity degree. A minimum of five years of related health care experience including three years of supervision and management experience. Faith group endorsement. Certification with Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), clinical experience in a teaching hospital, ability to offer pastoral support in an interfaith and culturally diverse environment, ordination or commission to function in ministry/spiritual care, and conversant in ethical dialogue. Certification with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. as a Supervisor.
B. Other Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to manage within a budget and understand financial statements sufficient to analyze trends and make recommendations. Excellent judgment, decision-making, delegating and communication skills. Must be able to work independently, set priorities and maintain complete confidentiality. Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, administration, nurses and support staff. Ability to negotiate PowerPoint, Word, excel, and internet.
