What You'll Do
As a Safety & Environmental Professional for John Deere in Thibodaux, LA, you will be the primary person responsible for the safety, health and environmental programs/processes and compliance at John Deere Thibodaux. Within this role, you will:
Develop programs which identify and reduce employee exposure to workplace hazards and ensure they are implemented
Provide direction to staff and line management for establishing and sustaining the safety and environmental culture of the unit
Aid operating management in attaining safety, health and environmental goals and objectives as well as regulatory compliance requirements of the unit/company
As appropriate, interacts with external agencies as the agent of the unit in both a strategic and tactical role
What It Takes We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on working in a global team environment. Ideally, you will have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, Science or a similar discipline and/or equivalent work experience. We also require:
4 years of experience in the environmental profession in a manufacturing environment (this includes Environmental Management Systems and standards)
Experience working with manufacturing processes and factory operations
3-5 years supervisory experience
Experience in Safety and Ergonomics
A strong candidate will have:
Experience working with governmental/agency regulatory requirements or legislation, occupational health principles, occupational safety programs and ergonomic principles, and ability to apply to workplace environments.
