The Nurse Practitioner Clinic examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals following established standards and practices. Ens! ures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Relies on education, experience, professional training and judgement to accomplish responsibilities. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Works under minimal supervision under the direction of the collaborating physician, as appropriate. May lead and direct the work of others within scope of practice.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
Master's Degree in Nursing
Required License/Certification
Advanced Practice License from Louisiana State Board of Nursing (unless new graduate holding a temporary license) Certification as Nurse Practitioner by ANCC (American Nurses' Credentialing Center), or AANP (American Academy of Nurse Practitioners)
Current Louisiana RN license Current BLS certification
ACLS required in certain departments
