Description: Louisiana Department of State Civil Service is presently looking of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - NURSING right now, this job will be placed in Louisiana. Northwestern State University of Louisiana has two (2) 9 month full-time faculty position(s) in the Undergraduate Studies in Nursing program available in! Shreveport, Louisiana.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Masters in Nursing required; Doctorate preferred.
Louisiana license as Registered Nurse, and at least two years clinical experience required.

Academic rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. Position will remain open until filled.

Teach all classes in a manner that will prmote academic excellence to the fullest extent; Provide instruction in areas of expertise; Assists with maintenance of records and files related to the College of Nursing; Assists with the development, evaluation and revision of policies and procedures within the College of Nursing; Maintains required office hours; Advises and counsels students during office hours and/or other times and settings as needed; Recruits students to all programs within the College of Nursing; Serves as a liaison between the College of Nursing and local, state, and national agencies and professional organizations; Complies with university, state, NLNAC and/or CCNE guidelines.

Examples of Work:
Participates in academic and continuing educati! on activities to enhance academic preparation ability; Engages in scholarly activities including research, scholarly publication, and presentations; Supports research activities of faculty, students, and nurses in the community; Assists with grant applications to support nursing education program activities; Participates on University and College of Nursing committees; Serves on institutional/community agency committees as requested; Participates in professional organizations; Serves as a public relations and recruiting representative of the university; Participates in community activities as a representative of the university.
