Under minimal supervision, the Chemotherapy Registered Nurse will assess the status of patients, prepare and administer medical oncology treatments, assist with pro! cedures, coordinate patient care requests, communicate patient status with physicians, provide patient education, provide supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants, and serve as a resource for office personnel.

DUTIES

Essential FunctionsDirects, assists, monitors, assesses and communicates with patients throughout treatment.Prepares and administers chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy agents.Assists physician in assessing patients' needs for central venous devices.Provides education to patients and coordinates requests for treatment and care options.Serves as a resource for office personnel.Provides supervision for and delegations of duties to Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants.

QUALIFICATIONS

EducationAssociates Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.ExperienceTwo years of experience as a Chemotherapy RN preferred.Certification/LicensureRegistered Nursing license in the state! of Louisiana.CPR certification.Specialized KnowledgeOncology !
