Description: Louisiana Department of State Civil Service is at present looking to employ PROGRAM SPECIALIST--SOCIAL SERVICES right now, this vacancy will be placed in Louisiana. More complete informations about this vacancy opportunity kindly read the description below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A baccalaureate degree plus three years of professional level experience in business ope! rations, economics, public health, public relations, research and evaluation, or in providing social services or health services.

SUBSTITUTIONS:
Eight years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree only. Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree only, as follows: A maximum of 90 semester hours may be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree. 15 to 29 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree. 30 to 44 semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree. 45 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree. 60 to 74 semester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree. 75 to 89 se! mester hours credit will substitute for five years of experien! ce towards the baccalaureate degree. 90 or more semester hours credit will substitute for six years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree. College credit earned without obtaining a baccalaureate degree may be substituted for a maximum of six years full-time work experience towards the baccalaureate degree. Candidates with 90 or more semester hours of credit, but without a degree, must also have at least two years of full-time work experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree only.

Graduate training with eighteen semester hours in one or any combination of the following fields will substitute for one year of the experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience: public health; counseling; social work; psychology; rehabilitation services; economics; business, public, or health administration.

A Juris Doctorate will substitute for two years of the required experience.

A master's degree in the above fields w! ill substitute for two years of the required experience.

A Ph.D. in the above fields will substitute for three years of the required experience.

NOTES:
Health services is defined as nursing service, ancillary services (radiology, medical laboratory, pharmacy, etc.) and medical services.

Public health includes jobs such as sanitarian, public health engineer, and public health epidemiologist.

NOTE:
Any college hours or degree must be from a school accredited by one of the following regional accrediting bodies: the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools; the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Incorporated; the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools; the Northwest Association of Secondary and Higher Schools; the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools; the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

This position is limited to permanent clas! sified employees of the Department of Children & Family Services. Other! s will not be considered.

This position is located in the Program Integrity and Improvement Section (Training and Development) in the State Office Building in Baton Rouge.

This position may be filled by promotion or as a detail of a permanent classified employee of The Department of Children & Family Services with the possibility of promoting within 12 months.

A Civil Service test score is not required in order to be considered for this vacancy.
