1. Current Louisiana license/permit
2. Minimum of one (1) year of hospital based, direct patient care nursing experience within! last five (5) years. Experience must be in the clinical area of assignment.
3. Current BLS - Health Care Provider validation
4. Completion of a 40 hour SANE training Course
5. Have expertise and current knowledge in forensic nursing, gynecology, trauma related issues, crisis intervention and legal statues

This is a PRN/Pool position.
Preference will be given to candidates that are SANE certified.
This SANE is a Registered Nurse who is responsible for providing timely, non-judgmental, and compassionate care to sexual assult victims. These responsibilities include a forensic examination, prophylaxis for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, photographic documentation, referrals for appropriate medical psychological follow-up, and support and participation in legal pro! ceedings. The SANE works under the direction of the SANE Progr! am Coordinator and is expected to follow the protocols established by Interim LSU Public Hospital.

Conducts initial intake interview and assessment of clients.
Provides supportive counseling and crisis intervention for individuals and their families.
Formulates and reviews nursing plans of care for all patients in assigned area and ensures that treatments and therapies specified in the plans are carried out.
May conduct group therapy s! essions.
May audit charts on a regular basis to evaluate nursi! ng care for quality assurance.
May serve as recruitment liaison with schools of nursing, nursing organizations and job fairs.
May attend recruitment functions and trips.
Assists with preparation and assessment of all recruitment materials and advertisements.
May interview and screen prospective nursing employees.
May prepare reports regarding recruitment and staffing activities.
